Who we are
The Dial Report (thedialreport.com) is an independent publication about buying luxury watches. In this policy, “we” and “us” means The Dial Report, which is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at any time through our contact page.
We collect as little personal data as we can. We do not sell personal data, we do not use advertising cookies, and we do not currently run analytics tracking.

Information you give us
Contact form
When you use our contact form we receive your name, email address, subject, and message. We use them only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. If you ask to be notified when a product or resource launches, we use your email for that one purpose and nothing else.
Comments
When you comment on an article we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. If you do, your profile picture appears next to your comment.
Purchases
When our shop is open, we will process the details needed to deliver your digital product and to issue an invoice. Payments are handled by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.
Information collected automatically
Cookies
We use only cookies that are needed for the site to work. WordPress may set cookies to remember your comment details if you choose, and to keep administrators logged in. Our shop may set a session cookie to keep track of your cart. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting provider records technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, and the pages requested. This is used for security and to keep the site running, and is kept for a short period.
The Watch Deal Analyzer
Everything you type into the Deal Analyzer is calculated in your browser. We do not receive or store it. The tool remembers your last inputs in your own browser’s local storage so they are there when you return. You can clear this at any time with the tool’s Reset button or your browser settings. If you use the share link feature, your inputs are placed in the link itself, so anyone you send it to can see them.
Third-party services
- Hosting. Our website is hosted by a provider in the European Union, which processes server data on our behalf.
- Script delivery. Our charts and tools load an open-source charting library from the cdnjs network operated by Cloudflare. Your browser connects to it to download the file, which means Cloudflare receives your IP address.
- Payments. When our shop opens, payments will be processed by established payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal under their own privacy policies.
- Embedded links. Our articles link to external sources. Those websites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
International transfers
Some of the providers above may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or a country with similar laws, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- correct data that is inaccurate
- ask us to delete your data
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive your data in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, send us a message through the contact page. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The Dial Report is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the way we handle personal data changes, for example when our shop opens or if we add analytics. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
